The Virome. A different perspective

Difference between the virome, microbiome and definition of viruses.

“The microbiome describes the large ecosystem beneath our feet in the soils, the air we breathe within the water systems in the planet that is composed of living organisms. The term microbiome means “tiny life forms”. The microbiome has been miscategorized often as including these viruses. Viruses should not be compartmentalized within this description of the microbiome because in fact they are not living organisms. The virome is a genomic information that’s secreted from bacteria, fungi, multicellular plant life humans and beyond so life is exuding this genomic information and in fact as we start to dive into the genomics of human biology we start to realize that this viral database that’s in and around us in the environment is actually building life as we understand it today.”

“If we just look at the human genome system we have about 20 000 human genes and these genes are not exclusive to humans, in fact we are 99% identical to nearly any other mammal on the planet. Over 50% of those 20 000 genes that make up the human or the pig or other mammals more than 50% are made up from viral inserts into our genome and so viruses don't attack us they don't take over the apparatus of our cells they are actually available to genomic updates. Not every virus that enters our system is going to be absorbed into that genomic code. In fact is a small faction that becomes relevant to the human genome. The body whether human or otherwise is always looking for adaptive and regenerative qualities and so when we start to see which genes are picked up we start to see this constant improvement of function, this modality of adaptation through the genomic communication of the virome. With more than 50% of the human genes from viral inserts we can start to tease out different variations. We now know that 10% of the human genome at least is inserted directly by retroviruses such as HIV in this category, so this are very critical genes to human function in fact the placenta nd its formation is reliant upon a retrovirus gene insert that happen in mammals millions of years ago. We wouldn’t have a stem cell in its function without a viral insert.”

A new Perspective.

So in a few words we are reliant upon the genomic information that we received from the virome. The viruses are not alive (thats why they are not a part of the microbiome) they are just genomic information wrapped up in a protein envelope that then can be delivered to a specific target. That is the main difference between viruses and exosomes. Exosomes are little packets of genomic information both large information of RNA and DNA size down to micro RNA which are tiny little fragments of genetic information that are allowed to travel outside our bodies to modify the behavior of organisms around us. So we are actually exuding exosome information all the time that’s giving information to those around me whether bacteria, fungi or other humans as to which genes IM TURNING ON IN RESPONSE TO MY ENVIRONMENT. (sounds familliar? Epigenetic control maybe?)

So what all this information provided by the amazing Zach Bush MD tells us is that we have to start to change our paradigms about viruses. Viruses as Dr. Bush shares over and over this whole informative post, states that the virome is just genomic information update than can wither be received by the body from the the environment and from our own ancestral genetic line. i.e Our mothers through birth so that we can be able to adapt and survive.

Our worldview about disconnection with our fellow human beings and nature has to change. All the old paradigms about disconnection, chaos, entropy and fear have to change. We are at a tipping point in human history where we have to choose connection and adaptation or disconnection fear and ignorance. This whole paradigm shift starts with us. And the intention of this post is to shed some light to the dark corners of ignorance and to choose to live a free life. A life where eating healthy, exercising and connecting with others and nature is our own medicine. You and me deserve to live that life. And in order to have it we need to start to take responsibility of our own unhealthy habits and to stop blaming others about our own dysfunctions. The change starts with us!
